James Webber has worked professionally as a filmmaker for over 10 years, making numerous music videos, promos, and commercials. He has also written and directed several award-winning shorts. His first major short, the highly acclaimed Driftwood, has won over 25 awards/accolades at international festivals; including a prestigious ‘Coup de Coeur’ at Cannes Film Festival and was longlisted for both a BAFTA and a BIFA for ‘Best British Short Film’. The film was picked up for distribution by Shorts International and, in the summer of 2014, it was broadcast on Channel 4. James’ follow up to Driftwood was drama short Soror, which hosted an impressive ensemble cast including double BAFTA winner Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones, The Witch), Rosie Day (Outlander), Sian Breckin (Tyrannosaur, Starred Up) and James Alexandrou (Eastenders).

Other credits include directing horror short The Prey which has so far gained over two million views online and includes famed genre filmmaker Eli Roth as one of its fans. James’ commercial clients include Film4, Disney, Google, Amnesty International, MasterCard, Clogau Gold, Academy, and Sony. He was also selected as a participant for this year's BAFTA Crew scheme.
