Daniel Jerome Gill, Director and Co-Writer, has been working in the Film & amp; TV
industry for the past fifteen years.  He has worked as an Assistant Director on numerous
productions including SUNSHINE, HARRY POTTER, WORLD WAR Z and many more. In 2018 Daniel’s Feature Film, MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH was screened in the US. He now is focusing on a very exciting slate of film and TV projects in the UK and US.

Daniel Jerome Gill, Director and Co-Writer, has been working in the Film & TV
industry for the past fifteen years, starting out as an Assistant Director on numerous
productions including SUNSHINE, HARRY POTTER, WORLD WAR Z, PRIDE &
PREJUDICE, GAME OF THRONES and THE CROWN, working with established directors
such as Stephen Frears, Danny Boyle, Oliver Stone, Anthony Minghella, Joe Wright, Mike
Newell, Andrea Arnold and Stephen Daldry.


In 2009, Daniel completed MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH, his debut short film, which
premiered in the UK at the BFI London Film Festival. The film was screened at
over 45 film festivals across the world, including the LA International Short Film Festival
and was nominated for various awards.


In 2011, Daniel was selected for the BFI’s talent initiative development programme
‘Think-Shoot-Distribute’.


Daniel’s second short film FREAK premiered at The London Short Film Festival in
2012 to critical acclaim.


In 2016, Daniel directed his debut feature film, MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH,
starring Freya Mavor (whose performance won a Scottish Bafta nomination), Josh
Whitehouse, Will Merrick, Tom Riley, Steven Mackintosh and Ian Hart.


MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH premiered in the US on 27th April 2018, screening at
twenty screens in twenty cities. The film was released in the UK on 4th May
2018 and screened in ten Picturehouse cinemas for an extended run. Universal Pictures
is the UK distributor (and most of the world) and released the film on DVD, iTunes and
VOD, including Sky Movies, which it has a 4.5 rating.


Daniel is currently developing various film and TV projects and in pre-production on his
2 nd Feature Film CLOISTER, which films in 2020.
