Xara Higgs is a copywriter and screenwriter. Since graduating with a Masters in Creative Writing she has written several television commercials and created various national and international advertising campaigns for a range of leading brands.

Xara’s first script, Paid a sitcom co-written with Natalie Malla was optioned by The Comedy Unit, and together they were selected for Channel Four’s screenwriting programme where they developed Wildside, an original comedy drama. In 2015 their sitcom How To Be Normal was shortlisted for the Funny Women Comedy Writing Award. Xara has also optioned a sketch to the comedy show The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting for ABC1 in Australia.
Alongside her writing, Xara has also covered many roles across film and television, most recently working for Big Talk Productions as an on-set assistant on two feature films before moving on to work as an assistant in their TV drama development department.
Xara is currently developing her own original comedy feature with her writing partner Natalie Malla for actress/producer Charlotte Riley.
